There was a full moon last night.
I stared and thought, or tried to think
But under gleaming sable light I found -

Only silence.

Just stared, I - not blinking, thinking -
No silver stars out winking,
Just - the moon.

Brightened sky with too few clouds.
High pressure; precious moon.


Again, I look and see (so early! Still it's bright)
A new moon, but no longer new
Second quarter, nearing full.
Another month -
Gone, and -

Oh, the silence !

I really like the way it flows and rhymes. The subject is shallow, yet provides for deep thoughts at the same time. Nice job.

This is a very neat poem. I like the use of dramatic pause. I also really love the way you used the parantheses in the last stanza. And the end is so amazing! Very well written. :+favlove:
